The Colorado Mountain Ninjas are a unique ultrarunning team in Boulder, CO. Until recently, the Ninjas trained and communicated in complete secrecy. The team remains very quiet today, but shares their adventures through weekly videos and monthly “Ninja Films”, which feature the incredible Colorado trails and Rocky Mountains. The Ninjas share their ridiculous brand of humor on Twitter via @COmtnNinjas. On Twitter, The Ninjas “follow” one person at a time, giving that individual the #GreatNinjaHonor, which brings the praise and glory of all past follows by the @COmtnNinjas.
From professional ultrarunners to novice team members, the Colorado Mountain Ninjas distance themselves as individuals and use their acquired ”Ninja Name” during training and video production. Ninja team members are hand-selected and consensually transported to a secret location where they are provided the knowledge and training from which to continue living “normally” but with the powers of a Colorado Mountain Ninja. The total number of team members and details of this group are sketchy, but Trail and Ultrarunning writer, Jerry Armstrong, has established communication with the group and serves as liason for our site.
