With the impending cold weather, we at TAUR became a little giddy with the opportunity to test some exciting wool products. So giddy we handed over our wooly costumes and donned some of the below apparel. Over the course of the past month we tested some of the cornerstone brands in the wool market, as well as pieces these companies wanted to share with the TAUR community. All products were tested thoroughly over a 4 to 5 week period and giving ratings in several key categories. All ratings were ranked 1-5 with 5 being the best possible score. The Black Diamond Deployment Pocket Tee offers a dynamic shirt that can easily transition from the streets to the trails quickly.

Matt – “This is more of a casual shirt, but it did perform well as a base layer in cold weather. Wicked extremely well and kept me dry.”

SmartWool has dialed in its running apparel line with its Ultra Light fabric. This SmartWool PhD line has a variety of options for wool enthusiasts.

The Merino Air Hoody combines Patagonia Merino Wool with a recycled polyester Capilene to harness the powers of wicking, durability and performance.

The ibex Hooded Indie was a tester favorite. Not only was the Merino wool soft and comfortable, it was strong and very durable.

Huge fan of Ice Breaker and IO Merino.
