Months ago we put a call out to the TAUR community for a compelling story that we could come out and film. We received dozens of incredible stories from around the US. One story, which came through a friend, was of Stormy Kies, a central Illinois resident who lost his 16 year old daughter in January 2016. After a quick phone call I immediately knew this was the story we needed to share.
Matt and I flew out there in July and spent three days filming and running with Stormy, his family, and the local running community at large. It was immediately apparent this story wasn’t just about how the trail and ultra community rallied to bolster a grieving family, but how the Kies family themselves were at the foundation of helping a community grieve and rebuild.
We are proud to share this incredible story and hope that you will enjoy and share it with others. It’s intent is to inspire and motivate and to show that there truly is no boundaries to the human spirit.
Faith was a incredible artist for her age. Much of her work has been put on t-shirts that the Kies family are selling to help compensate them for the costs associated with losing their daughter. Please, find something you like in the below link and consider supporting this incredible family.
