Columbia Titan Ultra Short Review

Columbia Titan Short

Titan Ultra Short

 $60

The Titan Ultra Short is a 3.5-inch inseam lightweight performance short with built-in zippered and mesh pockets in the waistband, a stretchy brief liner, and a water-repellant outer layer.

The Titan Ultra Short functions very well as a performance piece for racing and training in warmer weather. The outer layer does, indeed, repel water to keep you drier on rainy or humid days. The stretch mesh and zippered back pockets are convenient for stowing small items when heading out for a shorter run, allowing you to leave your pack at home and only carry the essentials. Simple in construction, but advanced in technology, Columbia’s Omni Wick advanced evaporation technology and the fine tuned cut of the Titan Ultra short will make it a new go-to for men & women who love to run.

I love shorty shorts and the Titan Ultra were just perfect for the warmer days here in California.

Pros: The Titan Ultra Short is incredibly lightweight with virtually no areas that cause chafing even on longer runs.

Cons: The sizing runs a little big, which meant the pockets along the back of the waistband weren’t as secure during testing without tying the waistband significantly tighter. The drawstring on the inside of the short waistband was a little uncomfortable when tied, and because the waistband is on the shorter side, it moves a little more than other shorts on the market with taller, lay-flat waistbands. The brief liner is on the baggy side, which didn’t hinder function, but generally detracted from the feel of the shorts, leaving it lacking that perfect middle ground between loose and snug. Be sure to size accordingly.

These are the shorts with the right stretch, breathability, pockets and cut to provide performance and comfort on even your longest, toughest trail runs.
