Hoka Challenger ATR 2

Hoka Challenger ATR 2

Price – $130

Weight – 9.5 oz

Heel to Toe Drop – 5 mm

The Hoka Challenger ATR 2. Anywhere. Any trail. Any distance. These shoes fit like a glove and they come out of the box begging for a trail run. The toe box is snug, but still allows movement and the Ortholite insole coupled with the seamless no-sew midfoot support come together to create an extremely comfortable shoe. The heel to forefoot difference is 5mm with the heel at 28mm and the forefoot at 23mm which is enough to keep zero drop runners happy as well as those who are used to a bigger height difference from heel to toe. The wide outsole keeps the runners gait steady and the Early Stage Meta-Rocker effortlessly assists in propelling the wearer forward with a rocking chair action from initial landing to toe off.

For those using this as a trail shoe, you will be pleased with the fact that you do not lose ground feel when you gain cushion. The foot is protected from sharp rocks but you can still feel connected to the trail. The 4mm lugs give great traction when running on trail but they perform just as well on the road creating endless opportunity for those long run days that incorporate both road and trail terrain.

The Hoka Challenger ATR 2 weighs in at a mere 7.8 ounces (Womens US 9) leaving you feeling like you are running with hard core shoes made of air. After 150+ miles on road and trail terrain, the shoes showed little wear on the outsole and maintained their stylish appearance.

When looking for a good all terrain running shoe, the Hoka Challenger ATR 2 will keep you logging those miles with a smile.

TAUR Tester Quotes
Soft, but grippy. Had no issues on most terrain.

The brightly colored shoe (women’s) is perfect for the spring as it looks a bit like an awesome trail Easter egg. The darker color (dark purple) is a very cool color and somehow makes the shoe look a bit more impressive.

The fit is extremely comfortable. It is like putting on slippers that can take you up the side of a mountain.

Would not hesitate to wear these for 100 mile race.
