Patagonia Strider Pro Short

The Patagonia Strider Pro Shorts are a great twist on the original Strider Pros. They feature a 5″ and 7” length, tons of storage, a polyester/spandex boxer brief liner with Polygiene odor control, and a 100% polyester body with Air Flow mesh panels and side splits for ventilation. The waistband is brushed elastic with a drawcord that can be tied on the inside or outside and the fabric is treated with a DWR finish.

From the moment received the Strider Pro shorts we fought over who would test these. Our initial impressions and excitement were matched by our testing experience. We were in love.  The 7” length protected our legs while on cool morning, bushwhack runs, and the DWR finish kept our upper legs dry while threading through dew laden bushes. The boxer brief liner resulted in absolutely no chafing, and after wearing the shorts for over 36 hours (yes, that’s right) straight, the Polygeine permanent odor control in the liner meant a minimal amount of odor. There are 4 envelope pockets on the back hips and one zipper pocket on the center back.  The pockets lie flat when not in use, but expanded to hold everything we could put in them, including 12 hours of trash/wrappers, a Houdini jacket, a few gels and a baggie of wet wipes.  This is a great short for long self-supported runs, and for the runner that likes to have a little of everything within easy pocket reach.

Agreed – fantastic short for long, self-supported trail runs and races.

Patagonia did a great job with the minor updates for 2017 and have made a great short even better –
