Upon first inspection, these shoes didn’t look like anything special. The upper looks nice, but not overly durable and the outsole looks more like a road shoe/crossover than a hardcore trail shoe. Then you slide it on your foot and cast off onto the trail. From buffed out trails to gnarly rocky terrain to hard pack snow, these shoes perform at a level above most every other brand we’ve tested. Every single one of our testers have fallen in love with these shoes. We have secretly attempted to purchase a lifetime supply of these shoes for all of our TAUR admins. While they might not be your go-to shoe for a challenging 100 milers, this could be the perfect shoe for the trail runner who wants to really connect with the trail. The lower profile and reduced midsole will provide sensitivity to the trail without sacrificing foot protection. This shoe really is a 5 out of 5!

“Great overall shoe. These were the perfect balance of comfort, cushion, traction on trail, and support on the road.”

What’s the toebox like? North Face shoes are usually pretty narrow.
