The Hoka ONE ONE Stinson 3 gives new meaning to a plush ride. For those that are planning on covering a lot of road miles and want to make sure that their shoes are holding strong until the finish, these shoes will get the job done.
The toe box tapers down and looks a bit narrow but when your foot is in the shoe, there is plenty of room for the toes. The offset from heel to forefoot is 6mm (34mm at the heel and 28mm at the forefoot) and with Hoka’s Late Stage Meta Rocker, your natural running form is enhanced. It feels like when you land, the shoe assists towards your next step with a forward rocking motion due to the Rocker design. Your foot will sit comfortably, deep in the shoe because of the Active Foot Frame midsole which only gets more comfortable over time and the light padding on the tongue complete the comfort circle for the inside of this shoe. The mesh-like material on the upper gives the Stinson 3 plenty of breathability and the no-sew SpeedFrame design keeps the foot feeling secure. The mesh and SpeedFrame design also add to the overall cool appearance of the shoe.
For a shoe with this much height, one would expect it to be heavy but it is actually very light and flexible weighing in at approximately 8.3 ounces (Womens). This is one of the lighter shoes on the market but the only one at that weight that provides such a cushy ride. After 150+ miles the shoes showed little sign of wear and were still as beautiful as the day they came out of the box. Other reviewers said that their Hoka Stinsons lasted 750+ miles and were still going strong!
Overall, the Hoka ONE ONE Stinson 3 is a great shoe for road running. If you are not used to wearing shoes with this much height and support, give yourself a break in period. Start with smaller distances and allow your feet and body to get used to these shoes. Once your body is accustomed to the shoes, they will take you wherever you choose to run!

“Wow does this shoe give support! For runners, shock absorption is a huge concern especially when logging the long miles.”
“The outsole will stand up to miles and miles and miles. It provides traction on the road as well as some light easy trail.”
