UltrAspire Epic

The UltrAspire Epic pack is a light weight pack big on features and storage capacity, designed for the adventure hiker and fastpacker. It boasts 25 L of storage, side and bottom compression straps to lash an ice axe, clothing, or trekking poles, a rain fly for inclement weather and multiple accessory pockets for quick access to food, maps, camera, etc.

While I haven’t been able to take it out on an extended journey yet, I have worn it on multiple 6-8 hour runs in winter conditions. The zipper pulls and buckles were easy to use with gloves on, and it had plenty of storage for multiple layers of clothing, food and it kept my camera/phone dry. The Dual Max O2 Sternum straps -a hook-type attachment- provided a secure, yet flexible way to fasten the pack, but I found it a little cumbersome at times to attach and un-attach while wearing gloves, or while on the run. The pack rode well, and with full water bottles in front and some gear in the main pocket, had good balance. When adding a full 3 L reservoir, the easy to use waist belt provided plenty of stability to ease the load.

If you are looking for a lightweight, bomb-proof pack for the multi day adventure you’ve been dreaming of, you won’t go wrong with the UltrAspire Epic
